Mayor visits US Embassy

The Mayor has visited the US Embassy to discuss trade and industry opportunities.
The United States is strategically important to Greater Lincolnshire and the Mayor is committed to strengthening and building on the special relationship with America.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, said:
"It was a great visit to the US Embassy and I met with officials to talk about our opportunities in Lincolnshire - particularly for inward investment in our food and agri-tech and defence and security sectors. This is an important part of the Mayoral role in speaking up for our area, building relationships and generating growth."
- The USA is the second largest trade market for Greater Lincolnshire.
- The USA is the UK’s largest trade partner. Total trade between the UK and US was £314bn in 2024 with exports worth £196bn and imports worth £118bn.
- The top 5 export goods are largely machinery, scientific instruments and pharmaceuticals.
- The top imports are oil, power generators and pharmaceuticals.
- Greater Lincolnshire is a significant location for the import of crude oil from the USA given the cluster of refineries in northern Lincolnshire.
