Siemens Energy will take part in the inaugural Great Exhibition of Lincolnshire.

The event will showcase generations of engineering expertise and heritage alongside cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of energy.

An estimated one-sixth of the electricity generated worldwide is based on technologies from Siemens Energy. Its portfolio includes conventional and renewable energy technology, including gas turbines and hybrid power plants operated with hydrogen.

As one of the world’s leading energy technology companies Siemens Energy has invested significantly in the UK and employs more than 1,200 people in Lincoln.

The event will take place at Lincolnshire Showground’s Epic Centre on Wednesday, 22 October. It will shine a spotlight on Great Lincolnshire’s innovation, industry, and investment opportunities to a national and international audience.

Siemens Energy is the UK’s only industrial gas turbine manufacturer supplying globally. The company will highlight its role in driving the energy transition, as well as its history. These exhibits will include two full- size gas turbines, alongside virtual reality headsets and pioneering 3D- printed components.

Alongside these future focused displays, Siemens Energy will showcase the 1932 Ruston B2 car that has been sympathetically restored by the Siemens Energy engineers, in the same factory the car was originally manufactured. Parts have been produced and replaced by Siemens Energy’s Materials Solutions team, using cutting edge 3D printing technology - reflecting the company’s roots in the region.

Mark Alexander, Vice President of Small Gas Turbines, based at Siemens Energy Lincoln, said: “Lincoln has always been a place of world-class engineering and Siemens Energy is honoured to continue this tradition. Today we are transforming the future of energy right here in Lincoln. The Great Exhibition is a brilliant platform to showcase our iconic heritage pieces to pioneering innovation, demonstrating that Lincolnshire continues to shape both the local economy and the global energy transition.

Taking inspiration from the Great Exhibition of 1851, the event is shaping up to be a highly anticipated milestone for Lincolnshire businesses. The trade-focused exhibition will highlight the best of our tech and innovation, with the aim of attracting new investment into the region.

Mayor Dame Andrea Jenkyns said: ““I am absolutely delighted to have Siemens Energy on board as the headline sponsor and the anchor exhibitor for the first ever Great Exhibition of Lincolnshire.    With its rich local history, Siemens Energy is one of the leading global suppliers of Gas Turbines, and as a major investor and employer across Greater Lincolnshire, Siemens Energy are joining me in celebrating the very best of Lincolnshire in trade, innovation, and investment”.
