FarmB Labs emerged as this year’s winner of the prestigious Mayor’s Competition, leading a groundbreaking consortium to develop a cloud-enabled autonomous soil sampling robot. This innovation marks a major leap forward in precision agriculture.

FarmB Labs developed the cloud integration, empowering the robot to make smarter, data-driven decisions in the field, ARWAC engineered the robotic hardware and power electronics and the Lincoln Institute for Agri-food Technology (LIAT) at the University of Lincoln designed and integrated the soil sampling system.

Together, these partners are transforming how farmers understand and manage soil health.

FarmB Labs showcased its bold vision for the future of farming at the Great Exhibition,  a vision that blends robotics, data science, advanced sensors and cloud technologies. Its goal to help farmers make more sustainable, precise and profitable decisions.

Rooted in Greater Lincolnshire, FarmB Labs aims to scale globally while reinforcing the region’s leadership in smart farming.

As the UK subsidiary of a well-established Greek-owned company, FarmB Labs chose Lincolnshire for its world-class agricultural research, strong innovation culture and thriving agri-tech ecosystem.

Operating from Barclays Eagle Labs at the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme Campus, FarmB Labs forged key partnerships with LIAT and ARWAC. This collaboration secured Innovate UK funding and is driving the development of a high-resolution autonomous soil sampling robot.
