Driving transformation together
Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA) is set to take a leading role in shaping the future of skills and workforce development across our region, following a Government announcement.
This is a game-changing opportunity to ensure our businesses have the talent they need to thrive and grow.
Under new national guidance from Whitehall, GLCCA will become a key partner in creating and delivering Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) – strategic plans that put employers’ voices at the heart of skills provision. These plans will provide deep insight into the skills our economy needs, helping us close gaps, boost productivity and unlock growth.
Work on the new LSIP for Greater Lincolnshire starts soon and your engagement is critical. We’ll be reaching out to businesses of all sizes, alongside colleges, universities and training providers, to make sure the skills agenda reflects real-world needs. This is your chance to shape the workforce of tomorrow.
GLCCA will work hand-in-hand with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), combining employer insight and harnessing the strength of the local business community’s voice with local economic expertise. Together, we’ll ensure training and education align with growth priorities and tackle the challenges businesses face every day.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, said: "This is a fantastic step forward. By working closely with the Federation of Small Businesses and our new Economic Advisory Panel, we’ll gather vital insight from employers across the county. We want to understand the skills gaps and shortages you face – and fix them."
The new statutory guidance requires partners to collaborate on three-year LSIPs, with the next plans approved in summer 2026 and running until 2029. This second phase builds on lessons learned and feedback from employers, ensuring your voice drives the change we need.
