Representatives from UK freeports came together at Humber Freeport with Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority chairing an agenda focussed on strengthening partnerships, driving collaboration.

The visit provided a platform to develop joint approaches to growth, advanced manufacturing and digital innovation - all areas that align with GLCCA's priorities for infrastructure, jobs, skills and economic growth.

Through the Freeport Innovation Liaison Group, chaired by GLCCA’s Strategic Lead for Infrastructure and Economic Vision, Halina Davies, discussions centred on how Freeports can collectively accelerate investment, support skills development and unlock transformative projects across the UK.

Site visits showcased the scale of opportunity, including Saltend Chemicals Park, home to world-leading companies in chemicals, manufacturing and renewable energy and Reckitt HQ, a global consumer goods company best known for health, hygiene and nutrition brands such as Dettol, Nurofen and Lemsip,  reinforcing the role Freeports play in driving innovation and creating high-quality employment.

The collaboration identified clear next steps for joint working through the Freeport Innovation Network, ensuring Greater Lincolnshire remains at the forefront of national infrastructure and economic growth strategies.
