Adult Skills Fund Consultation
From Wednesday 10 December, Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority is engaging in a six-week public consultation on proposals to change the Adult Skills Fund rules locally.
This includes a proposal to change the rules on how long someone must live in the UK before being eligible for free, or partly funded, adult learning, thus re-introducing a rule that was in place across the country until August this year. The consultation also proposes to end funding for English courses for speakers of other languages. One in six adults in England have very poor literacy skills and money could be diverted to additional literacy training instead.
Local residents, training organisations, community group and employers are all invited to take part.
