New Mayoral Transport taskforce set to transform transport across Greater Lincolnshire
The new taskforce will unite local leaders to address transport issues, share practical solutions, and help shape a more connected future for Greater Lincolnshire
A powerful new partnership has been launched to transform transport for people and businesses across Greater Lincolnshire.
Transport for Greater Lincolnshire (TfGL) brings councils, transport firms, businesses together with one clear aim: to make it easier for people to travel and for goods to move across the county.
Led by the Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, the Taskforce will take on the everyday transport frustrations residents know all too well and look at national and international solutions to transform transport.
The Taskforce was officially launched today at an event at the Hampton by Hilton Hotel at Humberside Airport, where transport leaders rolled up their sleeves in a hands‑on “Get Lincolnshire Moving” workshop.
Attendees pinpointed the biggest transport headaches in the area and shared practical ideas for change.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns said:
“Transport affects every part of daily life in Greater Lincolnshire. It helps people get to work and college, supports our farmers and food businesses, and keeps our communities connected.
“Too many residents still face real barriers just trying to get from A to B. Transport for Greater Lincolnshire is about bringing the right people together to build a transport system that works for everyone. It will focus on ideas to improve everyday journeys, backing local businesses, supporting jobs and services, and helping shape the new Local Transport Plan so it reflects the reality on the ground.”
Ideas gathered at the launch event will feed directly into future transport plans, with the Taskforce set to meet regularly to keep pushing progress forward.
