Next steps announced for improving transport across Greater Lincolnshire
GLCCA is fast‑tracking early transport proposals informed by public and partner feedback. Focus areas include buses, rail, road safety and new travel initiatives across rural and urban communities
The Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA) is moving forward with early transport proposals after reviewing feedback gathered during the first Transport for Greater Lincolnshire stakeholder session and the launch of the Rural Transport Group.
The Mayor, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Chief Executive Lee and Transport Lead Lana have been working through detailed insights shared by residents, councils, transport operators and community partners. This feedback is helping shape a series of proposals that will now progress to the feasibility study stage as GLCCA continues its work to build a more connected county.
GLCCA is currently developing proposals across four key areas: improving bus services by identifying potential new routes, increasing reliability and exploring travel initiatives to make public transport more accessible; identifying priority road infrastructure and safety schemes based on community feedback; strengthening Greater Lincolnshire’s rail links with the rest of the UK to support access to jobs, services and economic opportunities; and exploring new travel initiatives that meet the needs of both rural villages and busy market towns.
Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, said:
“Following our first stakeholder session and the launch of the Rural Transport Group, our team has been carefully reviewing the feedback shared by residents and partners. "This insight is shaping practical proposals that will now move into feasibility studies. We are focused on developing a transport network that is reliable, accessible and fit for the future, supporting communities across both our rural areas and market towns. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far - we look forward to sharing further updates as this work continues.”
GLCCA will continue to work closely with communities, councils and transport partners as proposals are developed and tested. More updates will be provided as this work moves forward.
