Mayor Dame Andrea Jenkyns has been in Grimsby supporting workers.

Mayor Dame Andrea said: "Today I chaired a vital Mayoral Business Roundtable at the Association British Ports Port Office in Grimsby to address the possible impact of redundancies at the Lindsey Oil Refinery. My priority is clear: we must keep our incredible local talent and world-class industrial skills right here in Greater Lincolnshire and the Humber.

"I was joined by the Humber Energy Board and major employers including HFC CATCH Limited, Associated British Ports, Ørsted, and Phillips 66—to identify immediate vacancies and match our workforce with new, high-quality roles in our energy and industrial sectors.

"We aren't just talking about the problem; we are working on a plan to support affected workers with training and direct routes into new employment.

"There is also a Careers Fair being held on the 19th March at the Civic Centre in Immingham, which will be a fantastic opportunity for workers to connect directly with these employers.

"Let's ensure Lincolnshire remains a powerhouse and retains a strong industrial future."
