Mayor seeks business leaders to join new Innovation Panel
The Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, has launched a recruitment drive for six business leaders, including a Panel Chair, to form a bold new Innovation Panel
Greater Lincolnshire is stepping forward as a national leader in the industries shaping the UK’s future. The Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, has launched a recruitment drive for six business leaders, including a Panel Chair, to form a bold new Innovation Panel that will guide strategy, unlock growth, and strengthen the region’s position in high value sector.
Unlike traditional advisory groups, the Innovation Panel will serve as a strategic leadership body—empowered to influence major decisions around investment, innovation, and job creation across the Greater Lincolnshire area.
The Innovation Panel will bring together ambitious leaders from business, research, and the public and private sector to accelerate Greater Lincolnshire’s strengths in nationally critical sectors - food security, defence, AI, energy security, and advanced technologies - industries identified by GLCCA as priorities for growth and investment.
Mayor Dame Andrea said:
“Greater Lincolnshire isn't just ‘the gap between the Humber and the Wash’ — we are the engine room of the UK. We have the potential to lead the world in the sectors that matter: food security, energy security, defence, AI, and data. These aren't just buzzwords; they are the heart of our Corporate Plan.”
“We have the expertise, the land, the talent, and the determination to lead in the sectors that matter most for our country’s future. This Innovation Panel will bring together the best and brightest doers — people who know how to turn ideas into investment, research into commercial success, and ambition into high-wage jobs."
The Panel will play a pivotal role in shaping Greater Lincolnshire’s innovation narrative, advising on investment priorities, supporting flagship innovation zones, and ensuring business support programmes deliver measurable economic impact.
