Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns, was honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness to the University of Lincoln's Riseholme Campus to officially open the new Geothermal Glasshouse.

Mayor Dame Andrea said: “It was fantastic to see the innovation happening right here in Greater Lincolnshire, from AI and robotics to pioneering new ways of producing food more sustainably.

“A great example of how our county is helping to feed the nation while leading the way in agri-tech and innovation.”

The first-of-its-kind facility will bring researchers and businesses together to develop and test new crops, technologies and growing systems, helping to shape more efficient and sustainable ways of producing food.

The visit comes during the university's 30th anniversary year and marks another chapter for Riseholme and the University.
