Mayor launches £34 million Greater Lincolnshire Brownfield Housing Fund

We are seeking delivery-ready partners who can bring forward schemes that will deliver homes, regeneration and long-term growth

Developers, councils and housing providers across Greater Lincolnshire are today being invited to apply for funding to help unlock more than 1,100 new homes on brownfield land.

The Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA) has secured funding through the Government’s Brownfield Housing Fund (BHF) to unlock 1,142 homes on stalled or underused sites. Brownfield sites are often located close to existing jobs and transport but can be more complex and costly to clear and prepare the land for development.

The programme is now open to developers, local authorities, housing associations, landowners and other partners with sites ready to be brought back into use.

The Authority will prioritise schemes that can be delivered quickly, with more than £16 million needing to be contracted by March 2027. Longer-term opportunities are also encouraged.

Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, Dame Andrea Jenkyns said:

“It’s time to get building.

“We have secured a £34 million fund to kickstart development where it makes sense, on stalled, underused brownfield sites, rather than concreting our precious countryside.

“My priority is completely uncompromised: we need homes for our people, but I will absolutely not tolerate building expansion without the necessary infrastructure firmly in place first. If we build houses, we must have roads, utilities, and public services to support them. This fund is a massive opportunity to clear the hurdles and breathe life back into derelict land.

“I am calling on our local developers and councils to take action, review the prospectus, and get their applications in by 9 August so we can deliver growth that genuinely works for our area.”
